Society of Illustrators 52

This piece titled "Melting" was accepted into the Society of Illustrators 52 show!  (The same piece that is in this years AI)... I received a  phone call from Kate Feirtag from SI letting me know the good news, which was a very nice personal touch from the Society. Be sure to check it out with all the other amazing entrees in the 52 annual!

I silk screened this piece a while ago, it's really large, so when it gets small all the details seem to look squished together (you'll have to view it large to see detail).

AMERICAN ILLUSTRATION AI-28

Check out this image in the next AI-28--American Illustration--book (selected image) coming out later this year!  Also please check out some shirt designs I recently did for a company called Green Goods (an eco-friendly shirt company) who are selling to Barneys on my graphics blog.

I am really happy to have another illustration in the AI annual as it is quite an honor to be picked...I especially liked that they chose this particular piece of mine for both the book and web.

I will be posting some new silkscreens I'm making currently as well, so keep checking this blog for updates....

NEW YORK SI51

So I finally made it out to NY, for Society of Illustrators 51. As I mentioned earlier I was completely surprised to have won the gold medal in Uncommissioned work, as this is the first time I have ever entered. I am so grateful to the Society and judges for awarding me this--it was a great time!

SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS 51

I got a phone call about being accepted into Society of Illustrators 51 annual (the NY edition)! This is extremely exciting for me as it is the 1st annual I have submitted to since graduating...and to make things even better, they awarded me the Gold Medal in my division for "Uncommissioned" (work), which I am Stunned, utterly Shocked, and Sooo incredibly very grateful for... The shocking news definately made my day, to say the very least!

Thanks to the Society of Illustrators for giving me this great opportunity and award! I am most fortunate to have had this happen:)!

OPRAH!

An update on my friend Andrea's Oprah experience...she was recently on Oprah as a guest person in a cooking contest which was crazy to hear! (Thats her in the Oprah Apron):) I will keep updating on the project, as I will be working on the artistic elements to her new and up-and-coming restaurant, in the Southern California area!
